NAVZAR ERANEE

Director & Founder

Navzar Eranee was born in Mumbai in 1985. An Air India baby, both his parents were flying for the airline when they met and fell in love. In the early ’70s till 2008, his parents were exposed to a world outside our shores, long before the age of the Internet. Being avid travellers, they saw a world they loved, and they philosophically practiced living on both sides of the coin.

Traditional values were met with exposure from faraway lands. Liberal thinking was a part of their created culture, and the groundwork was laid for the philosophies of their children. Often having no ground rules, Navzar and his brother Farzan would find themselves less bound. Physically gifted, they channeled their energy through sport, excelling at everything they touched.

Naughty to a point of disaster, they were
both grounded by some basic principles. His parents (who served as cabin crew) inculcated the idea of service and gratitude as the highest honour of work than one can do. Good thoughts, good words and good deeds were ideas his father would whisper into their ears. His mother, the strength behind all three men, would always lead by action and example. They lived in her grace. Often shy and quiet, Navzar found himself a keen observer.

He could never say no to people and often ended up in situations that were either beyond his control, not to his liking, or an incredible adventure. A sort of introverted Yes man, he grew into a man of contemplations that led to writing poetry. He used it as a gateway to art, music and film. The key skillset and liberation always appeared strongest when he was writing.

A strong visual sensibility was birthed through such inquiry. This gave him the confidence
to create visual imagery with conscious meaning. A possible abstinence of reading other fictional material also helped create a unique perspective. Research and history have always been of great interest to Navzar, and his heart revels in learning about the true history and the nature of the universe and its contents.

He knows that to study the past is to study ourselves. Bringing such insight and discovery to light through the arts and film craft is the journey he has undertaken. Such knowledge is endless, and he hopes to be moving timelessly and endlessly through the infinity of the
universe, touching everything in its path. The craft of bottling this insight and knowledge into film is how he chooses to carve his stone.

His objective with every piece of content, every sound and every word is to move the soul.

ANANYA DASGUPTA

Producer & Partner

Ananya was born to a family bit by the film bug; raised by a working mother who dedicated 25 years of her life to Doordarshan and a father creating opportunities for himself as a production designer.

Her parents were blessed by the relationships they made when they struggled with a daughter, mounting bills, landlord issues & another girl on the way, all while trying to fortify their careers. It taught her that family is a choice, not a connection preordained by blood. Her upbringing filled with a plethora of stories of film, the making of films, stories of real-life dramatic near-death experiences, not always having a roof over your head but having the security of others who generously shared theirs, the stories of rags
(before riches) – each story narrated with unadulterated humour.

She and her sister witnessed values imbibed by living legends, and one value starkly common among all: Continued gratitude for the opportunity to express and create.

“Art is an instrument of social change” was often
said and acted upon by her family, not just in work they were part of but in how they lived their life: creating opportunities for those around them, opening their homes and adding seats to their already full table.

Jokingly called “The OG Nepo-Baby” Ananya
appreciates the opportunities provided to her and the place her family carved for her in the world. As a favour granted by the owner of a production house at the ask of his friend, she received a college internship in the production team of Ramesh Deo Production’s Marathi Feature Film (Vasudev Balwant Phadke). This extension of grace got her her first job in RDP’s Advertising team, a production & marketing role in Excel’s “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara”, years as Associate Producer at Boot Polissh Films, and more opportunities to produce commercials, music videos, short films; amassing 17+ years of working experience.

Since she was fifteen, Ananya was attracted to film because she wanted to help tell stories. She was interested in production specifically as she wanted to be the backbone – providing support that helped transform words on paper into living, breathing, everlasting life. Her attraction to film till this day still remains… To help tell stories.
