NAVZAR ERANEE
FOUNDER & DIRECTOR
Born in Mumbai in 1985, an Air India baby, Navzar Eranee’s curiosity was sparked by the limitless sky. His parent’s work as cabin crew with India’s foremost airline instilled in Navzar values of service and kindness and sowed in him the seed of creative adventure. Passionate about sports, an injury in his younger years benched Navzar from his vision of becoming a professional athlete. Disinterested in traditional forms of education, Navzar found solace in poetry and the self-study of film. Filmmakers, poets, and artists became his tutors. He sought true mentorship and landed an internship with Prahlad Kakkar at Genesis. This led to more opportunities for assisting filmmakers like Mira Nair, Ashok Mehta, Shaad Ali, Abhinay Deo & Mani Ratnam. From these teachers, he learned the power of raw storytelling and the tools to forge through the madness of film production with precision and clear purpose.
In 2015, Navzar founded Walkabout Films, a vessel for his independent vision.
Navzar is driven by a deep curiosity about the hidden layers of reality. His approach is marked by a desire to transcend conventional imagination and transport himself and viewers into realms of possibility.
For Navzar, Walkabout Films is more than a name or a production house; it embodies his belief in the journey of discovery.
Walkabout is a celebration of the wonder found in exploration, the lessons learned along the way, and the relentless pursuit of artistic excellence.
ANANYA DASGUPTA
EXECUTIVE PRODUCER & PARTNER
Ananya Dasgupta was immersed in the magic of film from a young age, growing up in a family that formed their roots in a growing film and television industry. Her childhood was filled with stories of resilience and the relentless pursuit of dreams, often shared with an unfiltered sense of humour. These experiences, combined with the values of gratitude and opportunity emphasized by her parents, shaped her approach to both life and work. Her family’s commitment to using art as a catalyst for social change and their openness to helping others set a powerful example that continues to influence her professional ethos.
Ananya embraces the opportunities afforded to her with a deep sense of responsibility. Her career began with a pivotal college internship, thanks to a favor from Abhinay Deo on RDP’s Marathi feature film Vasudev Balwant Phadke. This led to a full-time role in RDP’s advertising team, earning her further opportunities: A first hire in the production team of Excel Entertainment’s feature film directed by Zoya Akhtar. She went on to serve as an Associate Producer at Shujaat Saudagar and Ashit Ghelani’s Boot Polissh Films. In 2015, she independently produced the short film ‘Aamer’, directed by Amira Bhargava and presented by Zoya Akhtar. In 2017, Ananya joined Navzar Eranee and Walkabout Films. With over twenty years in the industry, she has contributed to award-winning commercials, music videos, short films and feature films.
Driven by a passion for storytelling since the age of fifteen, Ananya is dedicated to bringing stories to life. She believes in the duty of production to serve as the creative backbone and guardian of filmmaking.
PRODUCER
ANANYA DASGUPTA
Ananya was born to a family bit by the film bug; raised by a working mother who dedicated 25 years of her life to Doordarshan and a father creating opportunities for himself as a production designer.
Her parents were blessed by the relationships they made when they struggled with a daughter, mounting bills, landlord issues & another girl on the way, all while trying to fortify their careers. It taught her that family is a choice, not a connection preordained by blood. Her upbringing filled with a plethora of stories of film, the making of films, stories of real-life dramatic near-death experiences, not always having a roof over your head but having the security of others who generously shared theirs, the stories of rags (before riches) – each story narrated with unadulterated humour.
She and her sister witnessed values imbibed by living legends, and one value starkly common among all: Continued gratitude for the opportunity to express and create. “Art is an instrument of social change” was often said and acted upon by her family, not just in work they were part of but in how they lived their life: creating opportunities for those around them, opening their homes and adding seats to their already full table.
Jokingly called “The OG Nepo-Baby” Ananya appreciates the opportunities provided to her and the place her family carved for her in the world. As a favour granted by the owner of a production house at the ask of his friend, she received a college internship in the production team of Ramesh Deo Production’s Marathi Feature Film (Vasudev Balwant Phadke). This extension of grace got her her first job in RDP’s Advertising team, a production & marketing role in Excel’s “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara”, years as Associate Producer at Boot Polissh Films, and more opportunities to produce commercials, music videos, short films; amassing
17+ years of working experience.
Since she was fifteen, Ananya was attracted to film because she wanted to help tell stories. She was interested in production specifically as she wanted to be the backbone – providing support that helped transform words on paper into living, breathing, everlasting life. Her attraction to film till this day still remains… To help tell stories.

Sagar Thakkar
Associate Producer
Nothing is wrong with being a little crazy… You have to be crazy enough to believe it’s possible. That’s when the journey becomes real, and you start to fall in love with the process.
From being directionless, to stepping up to support his family, Sagar began to find his way through the what’s and why’s of his life. A movie buff he was inspired by the film “Band Baaja Baraat”, so he started his professional career at the age of 18 with various roles in Sales & Hospitality to eventually climbing his way and becoming a Wedding Planner. Organizing 1000+ social events, and 650+ weddings in India and internationally made him feel like he was living his dream. On the cusp of taking The Big Leap and starting his own entrepreneurial journey, COVID hit the world. The pandemic and its effects on the wedding industry made him pivot, bringing him back to his initial what’s and why’s in his life. The answer was unknown. Maybe life had different plans for him.
A cold-call longshot digital outreach converted into an opportunity where he showcased his strength in management and production. It’s been 4 years since he started as a production assistant, the role developed into him being promoted to an Associate Producer. He has worked on multiple commercials, music videos, successfully producing music videos himself as well. From a wide-eyed outlier ready to make his name in a wedding industry, to using that skillset and honing it in film production – Sagar doesn’t feel like looking back now.

Meghna Vishwakarma
Assistant Producer

Meghna Vishwakarma
Assistant Producer
A student of history and politics, Meghna is passionate about research, learning, and the world. However, sports and unconventional music remain firmly in orbit. She is fascinated by the arts, and its endless potential, recently realising its magic.
She started at the age of 19, by working in the community development sector where she worked closely with the fisherfolk community of Worli, on art-based projects and restoration interventions with the BMC. Her time in the community was fulfilling and enriching – she was deeply inspired by their stories which are real, unheard, and raw, and hopes to one day be able to share those at a large scale with the world.
Coming from a family of films, she grew up surrounded by poetry, tales of cinema, and scenes from in front of and behind the lens. All her life, she resisted this world – wanting to stay away from the presumed baggage of the family name, till finally, she gave in. It’s an enchanting world. One that challenges her, entices and exposes her to new challenges daily. What started as an internship on a P&G ad, slowly became something more permanent. She worked on commercials such as Sansaar (A D’Decor brand), Kotak Mahindra Bank, Nerolac, and SuperYou, and soon enough made her way to Assistant Producer. Eyes wide open, eager, and ready, Meghna strives to facilitate processes and share ideas that are enthralling, new, and thought-provoking.

Adil Aziz
Producer

Adil Aziz
Associate Producer
Adil’s filmmaking is all about making things feel real. He’s not one to follow trends or stick to the usual script. He loves to challenge conventions and create something that stands out from the crowd. His love for nature, wildlife, and the environment sneaks its way into his films, giving them an authentic vibe. Before jumping into filmmaking, he spent time in hotels and hospitality, where attention to detail and problem-solving were basically his daily bread. Now, he brings that same mindset into his films, but also thrives on thinking outside the box, occasionally flipping the box upside down and sometimes digging through the box for the last momo.
Diagnosed with Asperger’s and ADHD clubbed with his love for boardgames, Adil’s approach to creativity is anything but conventional. He embraces his unique wiring, using it as a superpower to stay adaptable, think on his feet, and push through challenges with a fresh perspective and a smile. Whether it’s navigating a tricky project or dreaming up something totally new, Adil is grounded, adaptable, and—let’s be honest—always hungry (pun absolutely intended).

Born and raised in Pune, Neha comes from a humble Maharashtrian family that has always been distant from the glitz and glamour of the Bollywood industry. Despite this, her passion for the creative arts was evident from a young age.
At just 12 years old, Neha began learning Bharatnatyam, which became a cornerstone of her artistic journey. During her college years, she actively participated in a cultural group, competing in intercollegiate events and earning accolades for her performances.
While her creative instincts flourished, Neha pursued an engineering degree and worked for seven years at Reliance Industries as a Senior SAP ABAP Consultant in IT. However, she eventually realized that her true calling lay elsewhere.
Courageously stepping out of her corporate comfort zone, Neha joined Walkabout Films as an intern in October 2023. Surrounded by a team of talented and creative individuals, she quickly adapted to her new role and responsibilities, learning and growing every step of the way.
Currently, Neha finds herself drawn more to the direction side of filmmaking than production. Though she is still exploring her exact skillset, she is thoroughly enjoying her role as a Director’s Assistant. Neha describes the experience at Walkabout Films as a rollercoaster ride—balancing work and home responsibilities—but also as the most fulfilling chapter of her life.
